New venture

Just finished setting up a new display at a nearby  shop .   Juls and I met years ago when our daughters were in elementary school.  She purchased a  candle company and worked out of her home. Her business grew and developed a nearly fanatical following.  The demand was so great, that she moved into a nearby farmhouse and converted it into a shop.  These aren't your ordinary candles, they are deeply scented and long lasting.   When you drive up to the shop, there is a sense of fun and whimsy.   As you enter, the delicious scents of the candles will greet you as will Juls and her staff; Shelly, Jodie and Kimberly.   The merchandise is creatively displayed in a playful and eclectic style.   Juls has a gift for merchandising that has to be seen to be believed.  She also sells items for the home and... jewelry.  Here are some photos of her shop.  Stop by if you're close, you'll fall in love with the sights and scents.   Juls also does custom orders, turning unique items into candles.  My latest favorite scent is "Butterfly".   Juls is turning my recent find of old silverplate punch cups into candles for me.  I think the Butterfly scent will compliment the vintage feel of the cups.   Can't wait to see how they turn out.  Perhaps they will find their way onto my site...

Here are some of her votive candles.  Lots of scents to choose from...

The fireplace. Cozy!

My display space: I have the whole top shelf to myself.  Love the lights....

A converted suitcase, plenty of opportunities to display...

More displays.  I filled a dressmaker form with moss which provides a backdrop for my vintage style jewelry.    The necklace is a personal favorite, it has a 1920's watch, an old rhinestone necklace, assorted chain and handdyed velvet ribbon.  The watch is guaranteed to be accurate twice a day.  The faux topiary adds some height and drama to the display.  Perfect for displaying earrings and other trinkets.

Time to check out.  Wrap it up.  I'll take it!
