You say tomato...

"You like potato and I like potahto, You like tomato and I like tomahto
Potato, potahto, Tomato, tomahto, Let's call the whole thing off", George and Ira Gershwin.

While summer is not officially here, summertime weather is in full swing in my town.  Thus begins the annual love affair with fresh fruits and veggies sold at local farmer's markets.  I was lucky enough to purchase a huge, homegrown bundle of basil, tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella.  After all ingredients were sliced and assembled, a generous amount of olive oil, sea salt, oregano and pepper were added.  Serendipitous timing at the grocer...freshly baked baguettes!  Overall, very delicious and the first of many quick meals with locally grown gifts from the earth.  Really, is there anything better than a freshly sliced tomato, still warm from the sun?

"Sonny, true love is the greatest thing, in the world-except for a nice MLT - mutton, lettuce and tomato sandwich, where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomato is ripe.  They're so perky, I love that."  Miracle Max, Princess Bride.
