Saints preserve us!

Here's a custom soldered pendant of St. Therese of Lisieux. Much loved throughout the world, she was also known as "The Little Flower" or St. Therese of the Little Ways. She is usually portrayed with flowers, especially roses. Her "little ways" or small sacrifices spoke to people more profoundly than grand gestures or volumes of theological writings. People were able to relate to her example of faith and apply it to their own lives. St. Therese made an ordinary life extraordinary although there was nothing ordinary about her.
I love the rich symbolism of these Saints and the iconography. Religious meaning aside, the pictures are well executed, the colors are rich and overall quite beautiful. When you consider the images are fairly small, it makes them even more remarkable.
My mother had a big stack of holy cards from her school. The cards were given as gifts at the end of the year or on special occasions. It was a special treat to be able to look through her cards. Each card was so lovely that it was difficult to pick a favorite. I have made a series of these charms in honor of that memory.
